James Moran, Jr. is a Founding Principal of StrongPoint Holdings. StrongPoint Holdings specializes in the management, operation and placement of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) throughout the United States. James’ background includes broad experience in the financial and military arenas.
Prior to co-founding StrongPoint Holdings, James worked as a Registered Financial Advisor for Edward Jones. In 2001, James joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for nine years as an Infantry Officer. He deployed three times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). James was the Executive Officer (XO) of India Company 3/6 in 2004, during Afghanistan’s historic first-ever democratic elections on October 9, 2004.
Since his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps in 2009, James has taken up numerous charitable causes to include the founding of the 501(C)(3) Bar X Freedom Project in 2011. This non-profit reunites Wounded Warriors with their old units in scenic Big Timber, Montana, for an all-expense paid fly-fishing trip on a ranch donated to the charity. These trips reestablish the special bond forged by our service members overseas. It is the belief that reuniting Wounded Warriors helps their transition back to the civilian world. The feedback from Wounded Warriors who have attended these trips has been overwhelming positive. James receives $0 in compensation for this charitable work, and 100% of donations directly underwrite the annual trips.
James serves on the board of the NJ Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. This foundation was established to provide needs-based scholarships to children of U.S. Marines, and scholarships to children of Marines killed in action in defense of our nation.
James has a B.S. in Business with a concentration in Finance from Monmouth University in 1999. His military awards include the Combat Action Award, Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal. He lives in southern, New Jersey with his wife Christen and several rescues.
